NMS(Night Monocular Scope) is a self-contained system operating on one or two AA batteries and featuring manual gain control for various brightness conditions. A red low-battery indicator appears in the eyepiece when battery replacement is needed. The system also features an active projected IRLED for short range illumination allowing such activities as map reading. for weapon mounting, an adaptor is screwed into the system body that locks onto the weapon rail with a turn-key knob. The 3X magnifier is usually added in this configuration and increases the visual range of observation. NMS is supplied with a Gen III image intensifier tube.
