M. RM. Muthiah Chettiar was the name of the company, which was started in1946 at Colombo, Sri Lanka, and was functioning as an import firm handling the importsof varietyof edible food grains, pulses, potatoes, onions, chillies coriander seeds etc. , from countries world-wide. The firm handled export of Tea & Decicated Cocanut fromSri Lanka. The company's owner was my father. I was in the mangement of the company looking after the overseas business & banking. MRM. Muthiah Chettiar was a well known& a leading company in Colombo. As we are Indian nationals. I left Colombo and settled down in India & started a business in the same line of activity in 1958 at Chennai. I started exporting Indian made hand loom and power loom textiles and fabrics including ready-made garments from India.
