This special glass laminate consists of a liquid crystal polymer which changes its visual appearance when an electrical current is activated. A simple ON - OFF mode transforms the glass from being clear (transparent) to opaque (translucent). When the glass is in its opaque or frosted state images can be rear / front projected onto the glass to create a high definition display screen (UXGA resolution). Smart glass has many applications, but is primarily used for privacy, security and visual display. Smart Glass is suitable for both indoor and outdoor applications (with protection). The NPD-LCD (Non-homogenous Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Display) is applied between two ITO films and sandwiched between two pieces of float glass. LCD Glass is similar to normal laminated glass and can be installed in the same way. NPD-LCD is the 3rd generation of the Smart LCD family. The predecessors of it include NCAP (1st Generation) and PD-LC (2ND Generation). Proven by test, NPD-LCD excels in performance, quality and durability.
