This special glass laminate consists of a liquid crystal polymer which changes its visual appearance when an electrical current is activated. A simple ON - OFF mode transforms the glass from being clear (transparent) to opaque (translucent). The NPD-LCD (Non-homogenous Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal Display) is applied between two ITO films and sandwiched between two pieces of float glass. LCD Glass is similar to normal laminated glass and can be installed in the same way. NPD-LCD is the 3rd generation of the Smart LCD family.
