OPTIV is a multi-sensor measuring system where the primary sensor is video. Optiv systems combine the power of vision, laser and touch probe inspection in one versatile system. With a complete selection of high-resolution cameras, TTL (through-the-lens) laser, white light scanning sensors, analog scanning sensors and touch-trigger probes, they’re ideal for every kind of dimensional measurement and reverse engineering application. The new Optiv line of multi-sensor measuring systems from Brown & Sharpe enable manufacturers in a variety of industries to dimensionally inspect 3D and 2D features to the tightest production tolerances.

Power

Optiv combines multi-sensor versatility, the world’s most powerful inspection software, PC-DMIS, and high-performance metrology platforms into a single measurement solution. PC-DMIS. PC-DMIS Vision is a special version customized for vision and multi-sensor applications.

The Power of CAD Unleashed

PC-DMIS allows an Optiv system to be CAD-centric. This means programming and inspection results can all be referenced off the original 3D CAD model. This is especially useful when combining 2D and 3D features in the same inspection program. It’s also useful in that programming can be done without even being connected to the Optiv machine. Powerful editing and simulation features mean more power and flexibility in part program development than you ever thought possible. PC-DMIS even offers direct CAD interfaces, which directly reference the CAD file off the master database, with no translation whatsoever. Universal file compatibility for IGES, STEP, DXF, DWG and STL is also available.

True multi-sensor measurement is optimized with high availability of the multiple sensor systems. The Optiv’s exclusive dual-Z-axis design means you can easily combine 2D video and 3D tactile measurement routines in a single program; a task to which PC-DMIS Vision is ideally suited. The dual-axis design affords maximum access to the measuring volume and delivers significantly shorter measurement cycles because each sensor rides on its own Z-axis. Motorized probe heads for touch sensors are also supported.
