Zeolite is a group of natural or synthetic hydrated aluminosilicate minerals which contain alkali and alkaline metals. It is characterized by a framework structure that encloses interconnected cavities occupied by ion-exchangeable large metal cations and water molecules permitting reversible dehydration.
