Sewmac And Penomat Capstan Lathe of modern conception has been designed for the repaid production of small components upto 1¼" /1½" in either steel, non ferrous metal or plastics. It may be also used for rehandling work. Much thought has been to relize a handy manipulation of the operating levers.
LATHE FRAME: 'Unitized' construction of bed and body of Lathe assure rigidity. A 3 gallons capacity lubricant tank is incorporated in the case, which also has a storage Cabinet for tools & accessories.
HEAD STOCK: The hardened spindle dia hole 1-5/16"/ 1-9/16" is carried in precision taper roller bearing and insures even at high speed a vibration less working. An easy & accurate adjustment enables taking up the play. The collets are of the type currently used by all important manufacturers of Automatic Lathes. The Lathe can also be provided for chucks with 3 & 4 jaws needful for working cast or forged pieces of particulars shape.
TURRET CARRIAGE: The upper carriage is guided on large long adjustable bed-ways provided for wear adjustment allowing the observance of the most close tolerances required by the norms. The hexagonal turret has a double centering, the external one is tapered the rotation of the turret is automatically effected at the end of the return stroke. The rotation of drum carrying six adjustable stops is synchronized with the rotation of the turret. The index plate and bolt are in hardened and groundsteel. The to and fro-motion drive of carriage is effected by a capstan wheel provided with a vernier graduated in MM or Inches with a putting to zero.
TURRET AUTO FEED ATTACHMENT : Turret Auto Feed Attachment has three feed rates through independent motor feed disengages with limit drum bolt and can be engaged & disengaged at any position. Over feed mechanism is also provided.
TAPER TURNING SLIDE : The Taper Turning Slide can be moved forward backward or inclined for taper turning till 25 deg. and 2-3/8" stroke length. Adjustable stops are provided in each direction.
BAR FEED ATTACHMENT : The counter weigh driven by a small counter pulley and bar pusher driven by big counter pulley is the most currently modern type.
MOTOR DRIVE : Motor drive is through V-belts with adjutable tension. The change over multipolar motor usually used allows the speed of 700-1400 RPM (ratio 1 to 2) spindle speed normal range. First range 300-600 seconds range 466-932. Third range 700-1400.
CROSS SLIDE : The triple action cutting of slide type 'TRUCO' is of robust construction its width never the less allows the sufficient relief of the tool. The to-end-fro traversing motion can be effected by screw on request four ways tool holder can be fitted on the slide.
BACK GEAR (GEAR BOX ): is provided in the cabinet & V-belt Transition to spindle for smooth runing of spindle. It has two speed 1 : 5 ratio and reverse and forward both action with one lever at a time. Motor is also two speed 1:2 four speed 1:5 : 2:10 ratio can be obtained at time 50 RPM to 300 RPM (36 step) with the help multi disc friction clutches without stopping the machine.
VERTICAL SLIDE : The vertical slide can be moved downward and hand operated handle upward automatically by spring pressure. Adjustable stops is provided in downward direction.
