Universal high performance machining centers
The machining center is based on a cross-bed type design. The Y- and Z- axis travel is realized by moving those structural components carrying the cutting tool, while the X-axis is moving the work piece. The machine base design uses a generously sized, vibration absorbing casting (GG25). All structural elements have been optimized by FEM. The Y-axis movement is realized through a frame shaped traveling column, which further carries the spindle slide moving in vertical direction (Z-axis). This design eliminates any superimposed movements. This together with the maximized distance between the profiled linear guide ways significantly increases the accuracy of the machine design. Structure and components of the machine have been designed to achieve extreme stiffness and optimum dynamics. The tilting head makes the treatment with head inclinations from +16° to -120° possible. Thanks to the direct propelled rotary and tilting axes the HPM offers ideal conditions for highest achievements at the work piece also by 5 axis simultaneously. For 3 axis working or working in positioning mode, the rotary and tilt axis can be clamped hydraulically in any position. The machine set up is realized by leveling the three feet. Four additional feet are used to further support the structure. No specific foundation is required.
