The MIKRON HPM 600 HD machining center has been specifically designed for moldmaking and diemaking and for industrial short-run production of high-quality components. By using this machine, difficult machining tasks in both the lower and middle speed range can be tackled (HPC). Finishing work at high speeds can also be carried out with outstanding results (HSC). This is of particular benefit to the moldmaking and diemaking industries, which are geared towards single-part and short-run production. The MIKRON HPM 600 HD machining center is designed as a slide carriage machine with moving work table. Two linear movements are carried out on the tool and one linear movement is on the workpiece. The movement of the work table (X-axis) enables easy accessibility. The biaxial unit consists of the lateral slide (Y-axis), which travels over a long length, all of which is supported by the polymer concrete machine base and the spindle slide for the Z-movement. To obtain the dynamics listed in this specification, the machine frame has been sized to be load-optimized. To do so, the cast polymer concrete column has been completely reengineered. The machine table, spindle slide and lateral slide are ribbed of cast construction, optimized for weight and rigidity. This allows reliable control over the machining and mass forces that occur – the basic prerequisite for high geometric precision and surface quality on the workpiece.
