The vise modules are positioned precisely on a base rail by means of alignment pins. On the base rail, positioning holes are located on a 7.5 mm grid, while on the vise module there is one with a10 mm spacing. Following the vernier principle, the smallest possible positioning step is 2.5 mm, with a jaw movement of 4 mm, it is therefore possible to clamp the workpiece in any desired position with a known distance to program zero (original datum face).
