There are 128 drivers in the 2.2. Most of them are isodynamic ribbons. Ribbons have some real world advantages over cone based transducers when it comes to home theater. The first is wide horizontal dispersion. Ribbons project the sound in a wide oval pattern so that everyone in the room enjoys phenomenal sound. Ribbons are fast. Each one moves a small wall of air with less effort than cone based drivers. When a shot is fired in a soundtrack, you can literally feel the impact on your chest.
