Shipyard goliath crane is used for building vessels for shipyard company. As one type of gantry cranes, it has wide range of usage. The span of such gantry crane can be up to 140 metres (459 ft) and can lift loads up to 800 tonnes to a height of 100 metres (328 ft), making a combined lifting capacity of over 1, 200 tons. Before commissioning, the cranes are supposed to be tested up to 1, 000 tonnes, by bending the gantry downwards over 30 centimetres (12 in).
