Hastelloy alloy is made of an enhanced form of Nickel-Chromium-Iron-Molybdenum-Copper Alloy. The content of chromium, cobalt and tungsten provides superior corrosion resistance over Nilo alloys in the commercial phosphoric acid and typical conditions of oxidizing acids like nitric, hydrochloric, hydrofluoric and sulfuric acids. It prevents the production of grain boundary precipitate in the heated zone that makes it fit best in the welded condition.
